Ship It

Fast-paced puzzle fun in VR!  Easy enough for anyone to enjoy as their first VR experience, yet quickly complex enough to challenge the hardcore gamer. Ship It takes the shape-fitting fun of Tetris and reimagines it as a silly factory where you pack boxes to earn your wage.  Frantically maneuver your hands to grab the colorful shapes and fit them into their matching boxes.  If you pack efficiently you will climb the leaderboard and maybe not lose your job to the robotic Employee of the Month, K3-VN.

Ship It is the freshman release of Portland indie VR studio Think On Labs.  The game focuses on an easy-to-access game mechanic to highlight the unique benefits of VR, like interactivity and spatial perception.  Bringing UX and ergonomics principles to VR game design, Think On Labs helps players quickly ‘find the fun’ and get immersed in a seemingly simple task.  Available on Steam for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

Tiny Bubbles

Set in a microscopic aquatic world, Tiny Bubbles is a mesmerizing organic puzzle game about playing with clusters of soap bubbles. Pop the bubbles by matching four or more colors and create cascading chain reactions. Fill bubbles with colored smoke to grow them and push around other bubbles. Mix them to make new colors. Break a bubble’s edge to pop it or combine with neighbors.

Get stumped in puzzle mode and then dust off your sumo skills to beat arcade mode. You’ll delight in saving bubble-bound creatures, but the greedy Jelly Crabs will have you steaming. A curious fish called “Bloop” will reveal your nature as an optimist or a pessimist. Reflective glowing light and incredibly fluid 60 FPS physics and animations will make you feel like you’re playing with real soap bubbles.

The game was created by designer Stu Denman and inspired by the scientific work of his grandfather, an MIT Professor and a principal scientist on the Manhattan Project. Winner of the Seattle Indie Game Competition in April 2017, it features 7 different worlds with over 160 levels, each with unique goals and surprising challenges.
