There’s really nothing like the feeling of a controller in your hand. Whether it's an N64 controller with the third handle, an Atari joystick, or a Sega Saturn that brings you back - it's that tactile experience we all find comfort in. Or stress, needing to finish the next level in 15 minutes before your sibling gets the TV privilege back. Ugh. Enter the Console and Handheld gaming departments.
CONSOLE GAMING
When we say Console Gaming, it’s worth noting that, yes, we’re talking about Console Gaming...a place where you can check out a console game from our library of hundreds and hundreds of available titles, sit down at one of our hundreds of consoles available, and play.
That’s not all, of course, we also have console tourney nearby, where you can play many of those same games in a more competitive atmosphere against other like-minded and, frankly, bloodthirsty opponents.
Oh, and while our Console Gaming department specializes in current and next generation consoles, we also have a Classic Console Gaming department, featuring the best titles of the good old days. The point is, if there has ever been a console game in the history of console games you’ve had fun with, you should come on by.

HANDHELD GAMING
This is one of the most relaxed, chill parts of PAX. Seriously, PAX is a lot of really great things, but one thing it isn’t is easy on the feet. Enter the Handheld Lounge, a place to kick up the heels and recharge your batteries while draining your Switch’s.
But this area isn’t just for relaxing and taking in the ambiance of PAX while trying to stay awake (or not)...we also have tournaments, for you to test your mettle against other handheld champions

DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN HANDHELD?
Yes, please! We unfortunately do not have loanable systems in our handheld department.
I’VE BEEN PLAYING MY HANDHELD ALL DAY IN LINE… IT’S ALMOST DEAD! WHERE CAN I CHARGE MY CONSOLE?
Don’t worry - we’ve got charging stations for you.
UH… I ALSO FORGOT THE CHARGING CABLE
We have those too! Just ask an enforcer in the handheld area and we'll do our best to help you out.
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A HANDHELD TOURNAMENT?
Visit the Handheld tournament area the day of your tournament to sign up. We recommend going first thing in the morning (at 10:00 AM with show open) so you can have your best chance at getting a spot!
I SEE A HANDHELD TOURNAMENT I WANT TO PLAY IN, BUT DON’T OWN THAT GAME, CAN I STILL PLAY?
We don’t have a lot of games to loan out in this capacity, so for most of the games on our schedule you’ll need to have your own copy to play.
THE TOURNEY I WANT TO COMPETE IN IS FULL! WHAT NOW?
Sometimes, there are “no shows” (people who ended up too busy/forgetting to come) - or, there are enough additional interested competitors that our team can work something out. Try to attend the tournament time anyway to see if a spot opens up!
