FRIDAY NIGHT CONCERT: MAGIC SWORD and WINDS5
Headlining Act: Magic Sword embodies the mystical and mystery of an electronica trio, and will absolutely shred PAX’s Friday night. The Tale of the Magic Sword radiates from the Immortals. Their influence washes over all realities, cleansing some, and crushing others. Their existence is bound to the Sword. It is their link to immortality... and their curse.
With lore as legit as this, of course we want to hear those beats drop. While we wait for September to arrive, vibe out to some of their music on their YouTube.
Opening Act: Winds5 returns to the PAX West stage in 2026! Watch them performing with the Phinney Ridge Steel Band in 2025.
Two-time American Prize finalist and 2nd Place winner in 2025, Winds5 is a Seattle-area woodwind quintet. We specialize in performing music that is not traditionally associated with a wind quintet, such as music from non-Western cultures, video games, as well as film and television. Broadening the wind quintet’s repertoire is important to us, as we actively champion and commission new music for wind quintet. Winds5 brings the wind quintet into the 21st century with fresh, vibrant, and diverse performances.
Performers: Lauren A simakoupoulos (flute), Brian Madsen (oboe), Brian Schappals (clarinet), Anna Barbee (horn) and David Wall (bassoon)
